MEDIA ADVISORYU.S. Women’s National Team To Hold Media Availability, Skate & Autograph Session At Central Park’s Wollman Rink, Wed., November 2 WHO: The U.S. Women’s National Team In Training For the 2006 Olympic Winter Games WHAT: Skate With the Public, Autograph Signing and Media Availability marking 100 days until the start of the Olympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy WHERE: Central Park’s Wollman Rink located inside Central Park, near the 59th Street and 6th Avenue Entrance. WHEN: Wednesday, Nov. 2 from 3:30-5:30 p.m. EST MEDIA: Media should enter Wollman Rink via the exit gate (near the tent). A USA Hockey representative will be at the gate to grant access. The reigning world champion U.S. Women’s National Team will skate at Central Park’s famous Wollman Rink on Wed., Nov. 2, during a meet and greet with the public. Skaters can circle the 30,800 square foot outdoor rink with Team USA, which includes 17 world champions, four two-time Olympians, eight NCAA National Champions and 11 Olympic silver medalists. Media availability will be held in Wollman’s heated tent throughout the event. Team USA stops in New York City in the middle of its Hilton Family Skate to 2006 Tour, an 11-game pre-Olympic schedule that takes the team to 10 cities across the nation. Following the New York City trip, the team will visit Torino where it will be among the first to skate at the new Olympic ice hockey rink. The Wollman Skating Rink has been operated and managed by the Trump Organization for approximately 10 years. The rink was built in 1943 and reconstructed by the Trump Organization in 1986 at the request of the City of New York. Wollman Rink is open this skating season from October through March.
