U.S. team leads Grand Prix medal count

With the ISU Grand Prix Series now halfway over, the U.S. Team leads the medal count with 10, followed by Japan with six and Canada with five. Two-time World bronze medalist Evan Lysacek won his first Grand Prix title in China, and combined with his second place finish at Skate America, he is likely to gain a spot at the Grand Prix Final in St. Petersburg, Russia, Dec. 14-17.
Olympic silver medalists Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto made their Grand Prix debut of the season in China, and with all new programs they finished second. A strong performance at the Cup of Russia will net them a spot in the Grand Prix Final. U.S. bronze medalist Emily Hughes posted her best placement at a Grand Prix event, finishing third. She sits atop of the Grand Prix standings with three events to go.
