Allison Baver earned a bronze medal in the 3,000-meters on Saturday to move into fifth place overall at the 2006 World Short Course Championships in Minneapolis.
The team of Anthony Lobello, Alex Izykowski, J.P. Kepka and Jordan Malone also earned a bronze medal in the men’s 5,000-meter relay after Korea was disqualified for cross-tracking. Joining the men on the podium was Rusty Smith, who anchored the team’s semi-final effort.
Smith was fifth in the 1,000-meters and finished ninth overall, America’s top male performance.
The U.S. won the bronze medal in the relay at the 2006 Olympic Winter Games with Apolo Anton Ohno anchoring. Ohno did not compete in this weekend’s World Championships.
