Wiencke Leads U.S. in Parallel Giant Slalom at Junior Worlds

BAD GASTEIN, Austria (April 12) - Madeline Wiencke (White Bear Lake, MN) rocketed into the parallel giant slalom finals on Day Two of the 2007 FIS Snowboard Junior World Championships, but fell short in the quarterfinal to senior world champion Ekaterina Tudigescheva of Russia. Tudigescheva would roll on to also capture the junior crown as Wiencke led U.S. Snowboarding with eighth.
